Integration acceptance tests: after the connection works

Application guide · 13 September 2026. Illustrative project guidance; verify device, version and license compatibility separately.

Do not accept a screenshot as the whole test

A visible tag shows that one read worked at a particular moment. Write down the input, expected result, measurement method and owner. For example, require a known counter change to appear at source and destination with matching record identity. Compare type conversion, units and timestamps during normal operation.

Test distinct failure scenarios separately

A disconnected source and an unavailable destination database are different failures. Exercise each separately in a controlled environment. Observe failure detection, buffer state and records created after recovery. Verify which product or plug-in provides buffering and what happens when its limit is reached instead of assuming a guarantee.

Include duplicates and ordering

A retry can create a duplicate at the destination. Add unique event or transaction identifiers to the test dataset. Agree how the destination handles out-of-order records. Define expected behavior for counter resets, delayed data and poor-quality samples. These are part of making daily reports interpretable.

Test the handover itself

Can another team member restore the project using the written instructions? Are license, service-account, certificate and version inventories available? Include results, known limits and outstanding actions in the acceptance record. Measure performance targets at your site; an illustrative architecture is not a measured capacity or availability commitment.

Review with your team

  • Normal flow and data conversion passed.
  • Source and destination outages tested separately.
  • Duplicate and ordering behavior verified.
  • Alarms and responsible team defined.
  • Restore tested by a second team member.
