This guide brings the previous OPC Turkey License Utility procedures into support. Use these V6 procedures alongside the help for the installed version; V7 menus may differ. Check the Activation ID and purchased maintenance/version coverage before starting.

V6 online activation

  1. Open License Utility on the installation computer and enable Perform licensing operations online.
  2. Paste V6 Activation IDs on separate lines. The previous V6 guide specifies up to 100 IDs per operation; check the installed version’s limit.
  3. Enter the My Kepware account username and password in License Utility.
  4. Choose Next to submit the request. On completion, verify that each Activation ID reports Good.

If the online option is greyed out, review the displayed warning and Windows updates; the offline procedure is available.

V6 offline activation

  1. Open License Utility on the target computer and enter the Activation IDs.
  2. Use Save to File to create activation_request.txt. Distinct filenames help track several requests.
  3. Move the request to an internet-connected computer. Ask support to process it or follow the installed version’s My Kepware workflow; wait for response.txt.
  4. Move the response file back to the target computer.
  5. Use Import the Activation Response File in License Utility and verify Good status.

V6 online licence transfer

  1. Open License Utility on the currently licensed computer and enable online operations.
  2. Select the ID to move and choose Transfer.
  3. Sign in through User Name and Password, then choose Next.
  4. Review errors and warnings on the status screen. On completion, choose Next to return.
  5. Confirm that the licence is available in the account, then activate it on the other computer.

V6 offline licence transfer

  1. On the currently licensed computer, open License Utility, select the ID and choose Transfer.
  2. Choose Save to File. Read the warning that the old activation will be removed and the request must be processed; choose OK only when ready.
  3. Save transfer_request.txt and send it to support from an internet-connected computer.
  4. Wait for confirmation that processing is complete and activation on the other computer may proceed.
  5. Complete online or offline activation on the new computer.

Transfer removes the current activation; plan it with the production owner during the maintenance window.

V5 to V6 migration — software Activation ID

  1. Open the older version’s License Utility on the computer being migrated.
  2. Select the ID and choose Transfer.
  3. Use Save to File, review the old-activation removal warning and confirm at the planned time.
  4. Send the generated transfer_request.txt to support.
  5. Wait for processing confirmation and the new V6-compatible Activation ID. Do not assume that the older ID can be reused directly in V6.
  6. Open V6 License Utility and complete the online or offline activation procedure using the new ID.

This documents the historical V5→V6 workflow. Current upgrade entitlement depends on the purchased licence.

V5 to V6 migration — Hardware Key

  1. Check the physical key’s FLEX ID in License Utility and provide it to support.
  2. Wait for the V6-compatible .lic certificate for that key.
  3. Import the certificate using V6 License Utility.
  4. Check the licence and matching key in the Certificate tab.

Renewing maintenance online

  1. After purchasing renewal, open License Utility on the relevant computer and enable online operations.
  2. Choose Renew and enter the My Kepware account details.
  3. Choose Renew again to retrieve the current support dates.
  4. Confirm the updated support expiry date after processing.

Renewing maintenance offline

  1. Copy the supplied renewal .lic file to the relevant computer.
  2. Open License Utility and clear Perform licensing operations online when possible.
  3. Choose Renew → Import File, select the file and choose Open.
  4. Confirm the support expiry date after processing.

USB dongle / Hardware Key certificate

  1. Check that the file’s FLEX ID matches the physical USB key.
  2. In License Utility, select Manage Hardware Key Licenses and choose Next.
  3. Choose Import a Hardware Key Certificate → Import File, select the .lic file and choose Open.
  4. Check the product, status and support date under View Licenses; connect the matching physical key to that computer.

A copied certificate does not replace the physical key. Plan any required older-version runtime restart using the legacy guide below.

Emergency licences and virtual machines

The historical V5/V6 guide describes a seven-day emergency period for a supplied single-use Emergency Activation ID. Do not assume this entitlement for every current licence: verify the available ID, duration and eligibility with support. Plan recovery of the permanent licence within the supplied period. Check licence conditions before moving or cloning a virtual machine.

Frequently asked questions

What if the installation computer has no internet connection?

Create the offline activation or transfer request on that computer. Process the file using an internet-connected computer and move the response back to the installation computer.

When is a licence transfer complete?

Activate on the new computer after processing and removal of the previous activation are confirmed. Saving the request file alone does not complete the transfer.

What if the V7 screen differs from this V6 guide?

Follow the installed version’s License Utility help and give support the product/version details. This guide preserves older V6 and legacy workflows with their version context.
